Rosalie Hall is a Young Parent Agency and accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre dedicated to providing specialized care and treatment for young parents, their infants, and children. Our services include high quality learning and supportive child care program, infant mental health treatment, Live-In Treatment Residence, and a wide range of outreach programs for young families in need. Each year, we deliver evidence-based treatment to more than 1,000 individuals, with an additional 3,000 supported through outreach and drop-in services. Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in Rosalie Hall’s Pre-Postnatal Live-In Treatment Program. Working closely with the Residential Manager and interdisciplinary team, the RN supports young mothers and their infants by providing health care, supervision, education, and guidance. This position ensures that programming is responsive to the needs of residents, aligns with Rosalie Hall’s standards of care, and meets all licensing and regulatory requirements.

Summary of Duties

  • Collaborate with the residential team to plan, organize, and schedule programming that enhances service delivery and supports young mothers and their infants.
  • Assess and evaluate the health and social needs of residents and their children.
  • Partner with the Residential Manager and staff to design and implement programming that addresses the needs of our young families.
  • Provide direct care, supervision, and support to residents in accordance with Rosalie Hall’s policies and procedures.
  • Deliver informal counseling and assistance to residents regarding parenting, health, and personal well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, logs, and reports in compliance with Rosalie Hall policies and procedures.
  • Support residents in following medical instructions from clinic staff and external health care providers.
  • Educate residents about available community resources and encourage their use.
  • Act as the primary care staff for clients and their infants in the program, ensuring their care and development needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the residential team to develop and review individualized Plans of Care for clients and their infants.
  • Maintain cumulative health records for all residents and children, ensuring compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements.

General

  • Participate in the supervisory process and performance evaluation in collaboration with the Manager of the Residential Program and the Residential Team.
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all client-related information in accordance with Rosalie Hall policies and professional standards.
  • Adhere to all agency systems, policies, procedures, and organizational philosophy.

Qualifications/ Skills

  • Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience in maternal-child health, pediatrics, mental health, or community health nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of community health, social services, and family support resources
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young parents and infants, including those with complex needs
  • Strong assessment, counseling, and health teaching skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in residential or child and family services settings is an asset
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset
  • Successful police services Vulnerable Sector Screening Check
